Maria Dillon & Rush Tilly
We believe that everyone should be housed, fed and clothed as well as have access to health care and education. There are many in our community who are experiencing hardship and challenges in their lives and are struggling to have their basic needs met. Sharing a little time, kindness or something as simple as a smile can really make a difference in people's lives.
We love to cook for our family and friends and think that a shared meal is so much more than the food we need to sustain us. It is also a shared experience with other people and a way to be part of a community. The Soup Kitchen provides a meal and food that people can take home with them as well as a safe place where people can gather without judgement and can socialize. It is incredible to see the amount of food that is donated and might otherwise be wasted but is provided to people who need it. We have enjoyed working with the wonderful staff and serving the clients who often brighten our day with their appreciation.
