Veronica Keller
It is important to me to volunteer in my community cause that's what it is now. I have been here going on 3 years next year and Laramie is my home. Where I come from in KY we didn't have the help for those who need it like Laramie offers. And to see those that give and keep giving I wanted to do something. Also because the Laramie Soup Kitchen is opened 5 days a week people still need meals on weekends. I encourage other people to help so that we can have more places opened not just during the week but weekends too. And it's not a hand out it's people helping people which turns into family helping family.
Helping Connections with a meal serving my friends and my family means so much I get to give my love for each person who comes through our doors with love that they have given me because that's how I show love mostly through my cooking. I feel my efforts make an impact on those that come through the doors even though we have great cooks at this point Pastor Tim always says I need to be humble. Most of those that come through the door I know from the Laramie Soup Kitchen so they aren't clients to me they are family I've known them long enough so I cook with lots of love

Veronica (or Roni as we know her) fully embraces what it means to serve through Laramie Connections. She primarily serves for our Sunday dinner that is free and open to our entire community. She is always ready to cook, even on short notice and she takes great pride in preparing a meal for our "family gathering". But more than preparing and serving the meal, she has a deep care and compassion for the people we serve. They are always eager for the amazing food she cooks, however, they are also equally eager for the smile, kind words, and amazing hugs they receive from her every time! Roni's love for others comes from that real place of knowing that her story matters and therefore so does theirs.
