Doe Andrechak
Over the past several months I have been volunteering with 4 different non-profit organizations in town, including Laramie Connections. This has truly been a wonderful addition to my life. Volunteer work provides me with a weekly routine, a sense of purpose, and a connection with others. I have only lived here a few years so I love that since volunteering I now run into people I know in one way or another from my volunteer work, and some have become friends. I recommend others consider adding a volunteer activity to their life, there are many great places to do this in Laramie, and many let you volunteer on your own schedule. Even just a few hours a month makes a difference.
I first learned about Laramie Connections when I started using their transportation services and attended a Sunday dinner. Shortly after that I wanted to be part of this through volunteering my time and also some financial support. I help out in the kitchen at the Sunday dinner which is very enjoyable; plus I get a good meal and like seeing and chatting with others who attend. Laramie Connections and Pastor Tim's mission to offer free services that "fill the gap", to me, is a brilliant way to provide support to this community. I and others are grateful for the program, for Pastor Tim, the staff and the volunteers.

Doe has become a very dear friend to LCC. She is so willing to step in where needed, assess the need and then work it until the need is met. She is a great volunteer in the kitchen for our Sunday community meal! Her interaction with the people there is so genuine. Doe is all about making people feel welcome and heard and we are so glad to have her with us. Doe also realizes what volunteering does for her own well-being. We believe that she receives as much joy in serving as she gives to others.
